Basic Setups of Your Baidu Advertising Account

1 – Log into your Baidu account

Logging in to the account is the first step. I assume you already have the Baidu PPC Editor installed on your machine. If not, go to and follow the guide to install it.

Once you have installed Baidu PPC Editor, open it and input the credentials you get from SEO Shifu or Baidu.

In some cases, for example, when logging in at a new place or from a new machine, Baidu may ask you the security question(s), or require SMS verification. Don’t panic if you see that. Baidu is just trying to protect your account.

2 – Download account data

Once you log in, you should see an empty window. That’s alright because you have not downloaded the data from your account yet.

You can choose to download all the data or the most recent changes. I recommend always downloading the entire account unless your account is huge with lots of campaigns.

3 – Set your account budget

If you don’t have an indefinite budget, you may want to limit how much you spend every day or every month. Below is how you can set up a budget for your account.

4 – Account-level geo-targeting

You can set up account-level geo-targeting for your Baidu account. Once it’s set up, any campaign in your account will follow the account-level geo-targeting rules.

5 – Audience targeting

You can set up audience targeting and filter your audience based on their interests, habits and search patterns. Audience targeting can give a boost to your campaigns’ performance by reaching people browsing websites, using apps, or watching videos.
